Human Mortality Database
Database established by Professor John Wilmoth of mortality data for national populations including: Austria, England and Wales, France, Japan, Sweden, and the United States.
Berkeley Mortality Database
An older version of the above.
CEDA has provided major staff support for John Wilmoth's project, jointly with the
Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in Rostock, to put high quality,
historically deep, mortality data on the web for countries with data of acceptable
quality, after carrying out careful checks on quality. Mortality data are provided in
a variety of formats. This data set is called the Human Mortality Database, or HMD.
An earlier version was called the Berkeley Mortality Database, or BMD. This data set
is heavily used by researchers around the world.
